Network Entertainment is a globally recognized film and television production company that produces award-winning documentaries and documentary series - premium content that is embraced by audiences around the world on leading streaming platforms, television networks, theatres, and every imaginable digital platform.

Network made its entrance on the world stage when it produced the seminal film on Muhammad Ali, Facing Ali, in partnership with Lionsgate, which was shortlisted for an Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary. This set the stage for Network’s continuum of world-class productions that celebrate the lives of the world’s most iconic personalities, along with films and series that explore inspiring cultural topics from the worlds of music, film, comedy, sports, politics, and business.

 

Network projects feature world-class casts, combined with visually cinematic and richly crafted storytelling that is consistently praised by both audiences and critics alike, garnering awards, record ratings, and unparalleled media coverage for Network and its partners. Recent productions include a four-part documentary series for MGM/EPIX, Women Who Rock, and a feature documentary for Apple TV+ on the life and legacy of Sidney Poitier, SIDNEY. Women Who Rock is executive produced by John Varvatos and directed by Jessica Hopper.

The series pays homage to the legion of women pioneers in music and is a follow-up to Network’s lauded PUNK series for the Amazon/MGM-owned service, Epix. Produced in partnership with Oprah Winfrey and Harpo Productions, and directed by Reginald Hudlin, SIDNEY explores and celebrates the life and career of iconic Hollywood film star, director, and producer Sidney Poitier. The film features intimately personal interviews with the Poitier family and candid interviews with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry including Oprah, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Robert Redford, Lenny Kravitz, Barbra Streisand, Morgan Freeman, and Spike Lee. SIDNEY premiered at TIFF 2022 and has won numerous prestigious accolades including Best Documentary from the African American Film Critics Association, Outstanding Directing in a Documentary from the NAACP Image Awards, and Best Biographical Documentary from the Critics Choice Documentary Awards. The film is now streaming exclusively on Apple TV+.

Upcoming releases include a feature documentary on Sly Stone, of Sly and the Family Stone, directed by Academy Award-winner and four-time Grammy and Sundance Film Festival Award-winner Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, in partnership with MRC Non-Fiction; Bernie Taupin: Your Song, a documentary feature, directed by Matthew Miele, celebrating the life and career of the legendary lyricist and his half-century partnership with Elton John; and, Brat Pack, a provocative exploration of what it meant to be part of the Brat Pack, then and now, directed and executive produced by original Brat Pack member Andrew McCarthy, based on his New York Times bestselling book Brat: An ‘80s Story, in partnership with independent distributor NEON.


Selected past projects include The Age of A.I., an eight-part series in partnership with host and Executive Producer Robert Downey Jr., which launched on YouTube Originals; our electric four-part documentary series PUNK, executive produced by legendary fashion designer John Varvatos and punk pioneer Iggy Pop - a subscriber favorite for Amazon MGM/EPIX; Network’s signature I AM series of intimate feature documentaries on globally recognized stars includes Bruce Lee, Steve McQueen, Evel Knievel, Chris Farley, JFK Jr., Heath Ledger, MLK Jr., Paul Walker, and Richard Pryor; Johnny Cash: American Rebel, a feature documentary which debuted on CMT; and, the acclaimed seven-part series, Facing, for the National Geographic Channel, profiling history’s most iconic figures from Saddam Hussein to Pablo Escobar to Vladimir Putin.
