A landmark national event and prime-time television series, Making The Cut provided a national stage for Canadians coast to coast to participate in a search for Canada's best unsigned hockey players. Think American Idol except with Hockey players. For every player who joins the NHL, many more have had their dream of a pro career end with their teenage years, as scouts pass them by. Making the Cut gave these Canadians a second chance to make a first impression at an NHL training camp.

Beginning with tryouts in Canada's six NHL cities, "Making The Cut" provided a unique opportunity for hockey players to test their on-ice skills. The competition was fierce. Ultimately, six finalists were selected to attend an NHL training camp and a shot at the big leagues.

In addition to the prime time television series, "Making The Cut" included an interactive web site where ultimately Canadians cast a vote for their favorite hometown heroes.
