With a Bachelor of Commerce degree and Chartered Accountant designation, Kent began his career in film and television with Vancouver's Ellis Foster Chartered Accountants, now part of Ernst & Young, serving as a Financial Strategist and Consultant.

In 1995, Kent joined the WIC Television group, one of Canada's largest national broadcast entities. As WIC Entertainment's Vice President of Business Affairs, Kent was responsible for the analysis, structuring, negotiation and domestic distribution of the company's Canadian production activities. Kent was the Senior Executive for over 200 hours of prime-time programming, which encompassed live action, animated television series, television movies and feature films.

Kent joined Peace Arch Productions as Executive Vice President where he was a key component in its largest year of production, commissioning over $90 million in production, which ranked the company fifth in Canada. Kent served as the company's Senior Executive in charge of business affairs, development, finance, production and distribution for dramatic programming. Peace Arch's productions have aired extensively throughout Canada as well as on USA Network's SCI-FI channel, MTV, PAX TV, Showtime, TNN and Hallmark affiliates worldwide.

Feature Film projects Kent has Executive Produced include, NOW & FOREVER, a critically acclaimed feature and winner of several international film festivals, and THE IMPOSSIBLE ELEPHANT, winner of the Toronto International Film Festival for children's YTV Silver Sprocket Audience Award.

As a Senior Executive at Network and Vice President of Business Affairs, Kent has played an important, hands-on role on numerous projects, including the company's most recent theatrical documentary, FACING ALI, two seasons of MAKING THE CUT, THE LIFE AND TIMES OF RON LANCASTER AND GORDIE HOWE, THE STANLEY CUP ODYSSEY and ANNE MURRAY: THE MUSIC OF MY LIFE, which he produced for the company. Kent's experience and expertise in the film and television industry is an integral component to the success of Network's ongoing development and production initiatives.
